I have been working on a little something that I hope will help with your gift giving. It does not cost very much to make, just need some of your scraps that you need to use. I painted this little picture of baby Jesus along time ago. Thought I would make it into a e-pattern in case some of you would like to make as a simple gift.
This CHRISTmas some families are really needing a touch from us!!!!!!! They don't have jobs and some are losing their homes. They are going through really hard times and the Lord wants to use His children to make a difference to those He puts in our path. We can take groceries, put some money toward a bill that they can't pay....buy a meal for the person that is living on the streets. There are lots of ideas out there that we can do, but we need to do something. You could make this ornament and give it out this season! A message that needs to be known. Remember when I said to be prepared with something in your purse? You could give this to someone you don't even know? The CHRISTmas season is a wonderful time to reach out.
Tressa helped me make up an e-pattern in PDF form. It is real easy to make, even a beginner could make it. I have step by step picture tutorial instructions. All you need is scrap fabrics and some batting. A printer to print off the artwork and you are set.
If you would like to purchase the e-pattern for $2.00, click here.
We can make a difference in little ways precious ladies! I heard a pastor preach this last week on..........The SOWER.......scattering seeds (Mark 4) ......acts of kindness......where ever you go... living the LOVE of Jesus. Sharing who Jesus is, as you go about your day. It really can be a fun thing to do!
I am going to make some for my purse and leave them around. How about a restaurant, ladies bathroom : ), give to a store clerk! Don't be afraid, we have the answer! If you have some ideas, please let us know. I will let you know how it goes for me! I am getting excited about this.

ReplyDeleteCHRISTmas Blessings!
Gail
I love these little ornaments. So sweet of you to give a few away. So glad you have a long vacation coming up. Hope you have a beautiful CHRISTmas season.
ReplyDeleteI too want to be a "yes girl". I know I can't do it on my own either. I made the decision last month to go out of my way every day to do random act of kindness for at least 1 person. The key is "to go out of my way". Every day I have done this and have truly felt better at the end of the day! I AM SO BLESSED!!!!

ReplyDeleteYour work is good. your words touch the heart and I thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all you do - your patterns and recipes, but especially for your encouragement! (Some days I need more than others, as I try to encourage others!)
ReplyDeleteHi Linda..I left my Christmas Wish on your wall.
ReplyDeleteWith every Christmas, I recall all of the good times with my Mom..delivering surprises on Christmas Eve to the elderly folks she knew. The looks on their faces and joy in the sparkle of their eyes will never be forgotten. I learned as a child that it is sooo much more fun to give than to receive. God Bless You and your Family.

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute ornament and I love the idea of leaving it in places or giving to people. Even when we don't have anything there is always something to give of yourself even just a hello or a prayer.Huggs and enjoy the long break from the college.
I left my christmas wish on your wall! Thanks again for the great post I love them all!

This is a great idea! When my kids were young, we worked every Dec on some ornament or gift that we could give to anyone that visited our home. The kids were always so pleased to be giving. I wanted to start a life long habit for them. Now I see that I have forgotten this 'art' of giving...they have grown up and I don't craft much...I hope to get that giving spirit back! THank you for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteLinda, As always your post has been a blessing to me today. Thanks you so much for sharing your love of our sweet Lord with us. I also loved the poem in your post and it brought to mind another that I often recite when I struggle to let God take my burdens and worries from me as I know He wants to. Though I'm sure you have heard it, I thought I would share it with you today.
ReplyDeleteAs children bring their broken toys in tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God, Because he is my friend.
But then instead of leaving him to do his work alone,
I hung around and tried to help in ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back and cried,
"How could you be so slow?"
"My child," he said, "What could I do, you never did let go."

ReplyDeleteHi, Linda, I love your blog. It is such an encouragement--Your post a while back on praying for our adult children really meant a lot and I read over the verses you included all the time. I love your creativity! And I am so happy for your precious new grandson! We have 2 precious daughters from Korea, who might not have grown under my heart, but they grew in it!! I did go to FB and commented there. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely Linda - such a special gift. I will head on over to your Facebook wall now (Wendy Montreuil) and I wish you many wonderful Blessings this Christmas season.
ReplyDeleteLove the new pattern.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! I LOVE the ornament and your new pattern. I'd be delighted to be included in your giveaway! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteIn church this morning our Pastor challenged us to give a gift that is not expected. This ornament would be one way to do this....
ReplyDeleteI just posted on Facebook my most wanted Christmas wish for this year! Your blog is so inspiring and I find such comfort in reading your words and sharing in your life!
ReplyDeleteHey Linda,
ReplyDeleteYour ornaments are gorgous, and such a wonderful reminder of the real meaning of Christmas.
How are your Christmas plans going? It is getting very hot here in Australia, which reminds me that Christmas is coming, it is the one plusses of Christmas shopping that it means going into air conditioning.
Have a lovely week,
God bless,
Selina.
I loved the pictures of the cabin. I have been thinking about the old window I have in storage and how I can hang it and put christmas lights behind it. The house is only 940 sq ft so the largest wall is the first one you see when you come in the door. Hoping Gavin and I can get the avent book and tree out today and get caught up. Thank you so much for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE what you made!! It's such a wonderful time of year, to think of our Lord sending us the best gift ever!
ReplyDeletePlease sign me up for your party!! I don't want to miss it! :) :)
Dear Linda, I left a note on Facebook too!

We often talk about Mary, and what she said YES to. So much joy, so much pain and that's what we get to do too!
ReplyDeleteLove the babe in the manger!
Another day to shine for Him! Thanks for the reminder to say YES especially when this time of year one more thing to do seems like a no reply.

What a precious idea, Linda. I have several ideas on things to do. God bless you this Christmas season as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Linda,You amaze me!What a wonderful way to bless others. I plan to make some to keep in my purse,I guess that means I need to clean out my purse. I have an idea for a blessed Christmas gift. Why not bless others all year with small acts of kindness.Jesus wasn't here for just a month. We are suppose to celebrate Him year round. For example,I know a couple whose oven had been broken for several months, they can't afford to fix it. Once a month I plan to take them some baked goods.I bake all the time for my family.I just make alittle extra. There are so many other ways to make Christmas all year. How many others would like to give of themselves as Christ gave himself? Have a blessed day. Sharon
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas time. thanks for the giveaway
