Hope Your Day Is Restful!

Good Morning Sweet Ladies,

I have been listening to Passion 2012 on the internet for the last few days as I have been sewing. The Lord is getting me ready to go back out into the mission field next August. I am realizing more and more that it was the Lord who pushed our family out into the world (Sterling College). We have always been mission minded in our home and have reached out lots over the years to the unsaved. The fact that our family is together working there and I know that was a huge answer prayer for my sweet man and myself when we were asking for a job. Scary at first yes.......but as I was listening to the Passion 2012 the Lord was showing me that He has been the one in control and pushing us. The summer break is giving us some rest (hahaha farming....restful?) and I am so so grateful to Him that He is in control.

I have to share this little story. Over 30 plus years ago when our boys were little I wanted to work in a crisis pregnancy center to help be there for the mommas and their  little babies in their wombs. I was an unwed momma as some of you know and I had such a heart for young women who found themselves pregnant and not married. I tried going to the center and like I said my children were young and the going each week got to much for me to leave my boys. So I started giving pregnancy tests from our home. I was known around our area that I could do that. It was also a way for us to share Jesus. Well I got a call......a young lady needed a test.......she showed positive........I got to go and meet her precious family and helped her as she told them. Over the years I would see this girl. When I started working at the college, God in his precious mercy brought this same girl into my life....to work with......need I say more..... He is using me to love her for Him......."Amazing love how can it be, that he would save a wretch like me".....to do His Work on this earth.......I am in awe. The tapestry is continuing to be stitched together........from way back to all those years ago. His Golden thread is being woven......to share Christ......I will go........not always feeling prepared...but that is okay......He has already prepared the way.....I just need to stay on "His path" and tell the story of what HE has done in my life!

Nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I KNOW whom I have believed, and am PERSUADED that HE is able to keep that which I have committed unto HIM again that day. 2 Timothy 1:12

This video was one of my favorites. Louie Giglio Part 5 if you would like to listen to it. So so good. It is directed to young people, but it can used at any age.

The Lord is asking me, are you shining in your home......the work place.....where the Lord has placed you....... that is your mission field? I am asking the Lord to prepare our family for service this next fall. He will answer!

Hugs from the farm,

Linda

  1. I know what you're saying about your "mission field". And, it doesn't matter what your age! I'm nearly 62 and the "mission" the Lord has for me is to support spiritually and emotionally the Trisomy (13, 18, etc.) mommies out there. God gave us a beautiful granddaughter diagnosed with Trisomy 18 and fully realized how the Lord prepared my heart for her all along, even from childhood. So, to God be the Glory, Great things He has done!
    Hugs to all, Sue :)

  3. Hello Mrs Linda. Oh my goodness I got goose bumps. God is so amazing. I have to tell you my oldest daughter was able to attend Passion 2012. She still talks about it and is looking forward to next year and wants her younger sister to go. She believes it would be life changing for her.
    God is so so good.

    Love and Prayers

  5. Mrs Linda, I should have told you when my daughter was asked to go, we didn't have the money to send her. Just as she was fixing to decline, her friend told her it was paid for. All we could do at that point was praise Him.

  6. It makes me so happy to hear your postivie statements about working. So different than the ones when you first went to work. You are in the mission work of the Lord even though he didn't send you to a foreign land. There are so many here in our country that don't know the Lord and are like fertile ground for the missionaries. Thank you for you wonderful work with school kids who really are at a "make or break it" stage in their young lives.

    1. Hi Dorothy.....well I am postive today......maybe in August I will be a whiner again......but I will try not to be. I know when I first started working I felt that I was not being a good wife by leaving the home......I had been there for 38 years and it was hard switching my head. I didn't want Momma's with children still in the home to think "I" thought it was okay for them to leave them. Thank you for the encouragement. God is good and He is leading our family perfectly for our family! Blessings Dorothy! Me

  7. Linda, thanks for sharing the Louie Giglio Passion 2012 conference. I listened to it. I enjoy his message. We have a dvd of him 2006 called God and the Universe. It's great as well. God has cracked my heart for a couple members in my family that need extra tlc and it sometimes is just so hard to give but God speaks to me in those moments of need and I give without hesitation any more. We need to show love to the ones closest to us along side the ones across the street, town, and nation and world. Thanks for what you are doing in the Lord's name! Hugs and have a great day!
