CHRISTmas Thyme!

I have been busy decorating.......

and decorating.........

wrapping gifts.......... mailing them..............

really need to start baking our .........

CHRISTmas Apple Fresh Cake Bread

3 cups chopped apples
2 c. sugar
1 cup corn oil
2 eggs
2 cups unbleached flour
2 tea. cinnamon
1 1/2 tea. soda
1/4 tea. salt
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tea. vanilla

Chop apples peels and all in a food processor. Pour into a bowl and add sugar. Let stand at least a half an hour. In the mean time wash possessor and chop the nuts. After the apples have set their time, add to the food processor with all the other ingredients. Mix just long enough to wet all the ingredients. Don't over mix. Grease 7 mini loaf pans and fill with batter half full. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
I enjoy picking up sweet little plates at antique shops. They are great to put your breads, candies or what ever for a pretty gift. It doesn't have to cost much. I took an evergreen sprig and an ornament and there you have it. A nice gift for your Pastor and family, teacher, friend, great little housewarming gift. Enjoy this recipe!

Found these adorable wrapped mints at Hobby Lobby..........
love them.........with my little reindeer and tree.

Must tell you..........

we have had some sad news that happen here on Prairie Flower Farm. I had 12 ducks and all but 1 have been killed by this mean bobcat. Lily and Little Fluff ( my favorite sitters) were also killed.......plus many more chickens. It has been kind of sad.........I can't believe how many ducks and chickens I have lost this last year.......I know it is farm life at it's worst.........but I still don't get used to it. Thought you might like to see how big she is. They weigh about 30-35 pounds and stand about 2 feet tall. She is probably feeding her young. 5 ducks were killed the first night............and then 6 were killed the night before. Sad........will have to get the incubator going this spring! All my good sitters are gone! Life can sometimes be so hard!

Hope you are enjoying your day!!!!! CHRISTmas is coming upon us so fast!! Still stitching away.........love this life. Thank you Jesus!

Thinking of you allllllll today and.........asking the Lord that He will bless you and your family.......this CHRISTmas Season!
Me

P.S. Some of you may have noticed a young lady that leaves comments on my blog at times. Annabojanna..........a name I gave her when she was a little girl. She came up to me one time at church and from that day we both became very good friends........later she would call me Momma Stubbs. Anyway..........last night her little baby was delivered dead. It is a heartbreak.....especially at this time of year. Her honey's name is Ben and her's is Anna. They will be leaving the hospital today........without their baby girl named Nora. Just got the call. Please would you lift this family up. The pain must be unbearable. They love the Lord and are trusting. We just talked the other day on facebook...........10 more days until due date............sad.
Thank you!

  1. I am praying for Anna and Ben. It is so sad that they lost their baby. I know some of the pain the entire family is feeling. My daughter lost her beautiful 3 1/2 year old son last year. The pain eases somewhat, but never goes away.

On a lighter note, thank you for the flag ornaments that I ordered from you. They are beautifully made, and were beautifully packaged. Thank you! Five little boys will be very happy to add these ornaments to their collections.

  6. Prayers being lifted for Anna and Ben. My heart breaks knowing what they are going through right now. How Christmas time may never be the same for them again, like in ours. But, praise God He is faithful to heal our hearts day by day and minute by minute. My prayer is that God pour out His love, mercy and solace on Anna, Ben and their entire family. In time of tragedy may their faith be increased and may they bring Glory to the Father, who is our rock in times such as these. Please tell Anna and Ben that I love them, as a sister in Christ, and that I will continue to lift them up.

Wow, I can't believe how big that bobcat is. Can you electrify their fencing at night so it gets a good shock when it tries to get the birds. We have been very blessed that we only lost 1 hen (Barred Rock) to something this year. I know how devastating it is to go out and feed and find the horror scene. Our chickens are like little children to us and I usually cry when I lose one. People laugh, but I don't care. God has given me a soft spot for animals. I pray that you can find a solution to stop the bird nabber.

    In Christ,
    Cheryl

  7. I am praying. We lost our precious baby Rachel 23 years ago in March. I often think of her sharing a smile with Jesus. I know someday I will see her again but I am still sad.
I am sorry about the ducks and hens. Life on a farm is difficult at times isn't it.
I love to visit here. You make me smile always with your love of the Lord. Have a blessed Christmas season. Anne
