I am soooooooo rested today compared to yesterday. I didn't even have the energy to tell you yesterday about the night before. Do you ever have times in your life, when everything you do seems so hard? I mean everything? Well, Mr. Phil and I didn't get home till 3:00 in the morning on Wednesday night. I don't know what the Lord is trying to get our attention on, but WE ARE LISTENING. Since the trip to Oklahoma we have had nothing but one thing after another with our cars. Now I am sure I am not the only one out there that has the same trials that come along in life!!!!!!!We have our van and then our friend found a fantastic deal on a car for our daughters about a year ago. With the sales of our fabric we were able to get the girls theirs, we were so excited for them. On Tuesday night we had to return a saw to the same friends house, because it wouldn't cut the posts for the fence. It was after a meeting and all of a sudden the car started making noise and quit. We were all stranded together............ in the car............sitting...........thinking............"why ...........us". Anyone relate? Isn't that always our first response! Now mind you our van has been down for at least 2 months. Nooooo time to work on it or a way to get it to our friends place, so he can check it out. So our daughter in love came and picked us up to take us home 35 minutes away at midnight, that made that a late night. Thursday we had a trailer so we could take the van down first, then we were going to go back to the church parking lot that we left the girls car in and take that one there also. Well we started at 9:00 at night and the car would not start. I sat stitching away, reading a little in my new magazine and praying for my already exhausted sweetie. The jumper cables that we had...... would not work (why?).......... we were already wasted by this time. Everything that could go wrong, Did! I sat in the truck and had a little pity party for myself, when it got to be 1 in the morning I was not happy, smile. Been there? When I get exhausted I am a baby!!! Our Tressy was so funny as I or they would keep calling and checking on us. One of the calls she said, it is like reverse roles, I am the "worrying parent" and you are the "naughty teenagers" out late. "I would come find you, but you have my car". Heehee funny girl! We have never had to deal with any of our kids being out late, but I can only imagine how horrible that would be. The two girls could not get to sleep until we were home safe. Oh my what a time. Yesterday Mr. Phil and I had to just keep going with one foot in front of the other. Sometimes it felt like our feet were not working!!!!!!! I would have loved to just climb back in our bed!!!!!! There is so much to do at this time of year. My sweetie Tressa made us a wonderful summer meal though. Our tomatoes are doing so well. Love it!!!!!!!

Taco Salad
Layer from bottom up in a bowl
Crunched tortilla chips
meat mixture made with a pkg. of taco seasoning
mexican beans
onions/chopped
fresh tomatoes cut up
shredded cheddar cheese
Salsa
dab of sour cream
olives

Mmmmmm nummy on a.......
Hot Summer Day

Tress also made Strawberry Shortcake with Homemade Pound Cake
This pound cake is supper easy to make up and it is delicious.
It was so nummy! We always make fresh whip cream for the top. We put in powdered sugar instead of granulated sugar. You will have to make it that way every time once you have had it that way!

Are you having anything special for dinner tonight?

On Monday I will have the news to tell you.

I am squealing with the
Delight of the Lord!!!!!!!!

You know me, one of my sins is Worry............ Panic....... and Doubt! I think you could throw in there TRUST! I don't like it about myself. I ask for Him to help. I will tell you He has you so covered!!!!!! Even in the hard times!!!!!!!!!!

WE have prayed and prayed and He has answered beyond what we could imagine. Those of you who have prayed for us.............

Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts!!!!!!!

One more thing, One of my sweetie Blogger Friends is having a giveaway on her blog.

You will love Sharon, she has a heart for JESUS!

Tell her I sent you and lets help her with her party.

I am still working on mine. Wonder if I could finish it by Monday. You think?

Welcome all the new followers!

Hugs and prayers from the farm,

  2. Linda,

Thank you so much for sharing your prayer requests as well as your blessings. We need to pray for one another, and encourage one another in this way. I was so thankful to have the prayers of friends over the past weekend as we almost lost my dear father-in-law to a serious infection after cancer surgery. Praise the Lord he is doing MUCH better now! Praying that God provides the "healing" your vehicles need soon.

    Love, Katie

PS - another blessing. . . my dear hubby and I get to take our 3 blessings on a 3 day expedition to see more of our gorgeous state of Colorado this weekend!

  3. Oh Linda I am so sorry about all the car troubles. It is so frustrating to be stuck like that and to have those car repair bills. You are not struggling alone though and thankfully we can bear each other's burdens. Sometimes it "feels" like God went out for a long coffee break, but we know He is working on our behalf even if we can't "see" it. I am greatly anticipating your news on Monday. Praying for all your vehichles to be running smoothly.Thank you for taking the time to respond back to our comments, that is so sweet of you. Blessings, Jeannie

  5. Oh Linda...you perfectly described how I've been feeling the last few days, except our car is still working...just some difficult times with my dad...but it'll work out..Oh, yeah, there have been times where I've felt nothing has gone right at all..and I've had myself a pity party..So it was a comfort to know I"m not the only one who does that sometimes :) :) :) Oh, I could tell you some stories about the last three cars my dad had before we got the current one...every single one of them junkers with their own unique set of problems...my favorite was the car with the transmission that would just quit when we were sitting idle in traffic at a stoplight. I'll tell you what, my dad learned to turn off the car and back on in a second...It was amazing..and God had us covered the whole time. You are right about that :) :) : ) :)
I can't wait to hear what the exciting news is on Monday...that'll be fun!!!! Have a great weekend. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

  6. I wouldn't have handled all that car trouble very well, I'm telling you! I'd have to have a HUGE dose of God's grace and I'm sure it will be there when I need it, but on my own, I would have been a mess!

OK. Now I just don't know if I can wait till Monday to hear your exciting news! Guess I'll have to.

We have a grandchild here with us for a few days. Daughter and the other two went up to MI for a reunion an left Titus. When they come back through, she'll take him back with her and leave the oldest granddaughter.

They are picking up a little 6 month old boy whom they will be adopting this weekend, too! Lots of excitement everywhere!

Can you relax at ALL this weekend? Hope so!

  9. Linda,
All I can say is "Been there...done that!" My heart goes out to you and Mr. Phil....I tend to say a lot to my hubby "Are we the only people that this stuff happens to??????" You have reminded me that I am not alone. Last week, we had in need of repair (weed eater/van AC/ daughter's truck AC/ motorcycle/ and boat) I did NOT have to pull a late night as you did. This week it is slowly better! My prayers are with you. Is it okay to feel "better" when you know you're not the only one this happens to?
    PS....your tomatoes are gorgeous!!! ;0)

  10. Hi Linda, wow sounds like us. tough times financially lately but we do see a glimmer of light at the end of that tunnel..we have tried to keep our sense of humor because what is the alternative? We pray and God is good. We have food to eat and a roof over our head, healthy adult kids who are on their own, and aside from my health problems, we are ok.
Our jeep has been out of commission for a couple months. It's like a 200 repair job but we have not had the extra..so it sits..my car is old but runs good so we are fine. Overheard my hubs calling the jeep repair guy today so hopefully next payday we can take it in.
Glad you and Mr Phil are surviving this tough week..prayers for you all and your sweet family.

    hugs
    Barb

  11. Linda, I love your picture of the tomatoes in the bag! When I get produce from a friend, it's always in an old plastic grocery bag, but I am always glad for the freebie anyway.

Learning weeks are tough ones, aren't they. Hang in there. God is so faithful to us!
