Hello Sweet Friends,

You are welcome to use this photo........pass it on!

Dear Sweet Ladies,

Tonight we went to the Kansas State Fair with the people at the college. It was a special time getting to know everyone a little better. Did not have anytime to post..............but I did want you to know that if I could have you at my home.......... I would let you sit on the little white bench on the front of our porch. I would tell you to put up your feet and then I would share a cup of tea with you. Then I would ask you where you were born and a little about yourself. Soooo while I am gone at work, if you would like to leave a comment I would just love to get to know you a little better. I will write a little about me on Tuesday. I think it will help everyone that follows my blog get to know each other a little better. So here goes. If you don't want to tell anything about yourself, tell us what gift you might be making for CHRISTmas this year. On the poll I did out of 114 ladies that voted 89 make their own gifts. That is a lot of gift makings!!!!!!!

God Bless and praying for your day!

Hugs sweet friends and have a very nice day!

  3. Hey Linda! I am Cindy, from FarmgirlCyn. Married 39 years this week (grace of God, but that's a whole 'nother story) 5 children, ages 37 down to 18. 3 grands..so far!
    Love to cook, read, garden.
I HAVE to make gifts for CHRISTmas this year, as there has been very little work for hubby who is a sub-contractor. Cold-process soaps, hand knit dishrags, aprons made from vintage sheets found at thrift stores, jams, chutneys etc. Also, drying herbs from our garden and will bottle sage, thyme and rosemary. Homemade herb vinegars, also.
Lots to do but I love doing it!

    Blessings!
    Cindy

  5. I can just imagine how nice it would be to sit on your porch and share a cup of tea and conversation with you! I'm Casey, married almost 17 years and staying home to homeschool our 4 babies. I used to love to read and garden, but lately there hasn't been much time for much but homeschooling and blogging. Someday. I was born in Florida and lived there until after college, then hubby and I took off after our wedding and lived for a while in Colorado, then in Hilton Head. Now we've settled down on a small farm, where we just got our first chickens! Having fun with them. Looking forward to learning more about you!
Oh, no time for homemade gifts probably this Christmas... sigh. Again, someday.

  8. Hello Linda

Thank you for inviting me over for tea. I DO love a cup of tea with just a little cream.

My name is Anna and I am mother to four blessings here on earth and three in heaven. I have been married to my dear hubby for 15 years. I was born near Portland, Oregon. My husband is from Texas and we have been going back and forth, as well as spending some time in Italy sharing the saving Grace of Jesus. We are currently awaiting some news about a job in Minnesota. We have always wanted to live in the country and on a farm. I am thankful God knows best and I'll just try to be patient and wait on Him.

Thank you for the delicious cup of tea and for listening to my rambling. I needed it today as I am coming down with some kind of ailment.

    Hugs!

  9. Hi there,
I'm Kirsteen, have been happily married for 12 years and we have been blessed with 4 handsome boys aged from 1-10.

We live in Scotland, near Edinburgh, but will soon be moving up north to begin a new chapter of our lives there, as my husband has a new job up there.

I am planning on making a lot of home-made gifts this year, many crocheted hopefully!

  11. Hi Linda,
It's so good to visit with you! My name is Regina and I was born in Pascagoula, MS. What a great place to grow up. However, at the young age of 22, I decided that Pasc. just didn't have anything for me and I packed up and moved to TX. This is where I met and married my sweet husband. We have been married for 18 yrs. and have a blended family of 7 kids, 5 daughters and two sons. We also have 5 grandkids with two more on the way.

This year, Jack and I decided that the best thing we could give our kiddos for Christmas would be food. So, they will each receive beef that was raised here on our farm, canned goods, and then a few things like aprons, dish towels, and pot holders. It will be a different Christmas for them but hopefully a new tradition.

Thank you so much for the tea and visit.
    Regina

  12. Hello Linda..

Would absolutely 'love' to sit and have a cup of tea with you on your porch! It looks so inviting! I was born and lived in a small town in Iowa and lived with my family on a farm until I married at the young age of 17, we had two children, a boy and a girl. Later in life I remarried to my DH Mr. Tom who I adore! We have been married for 24 years! He has one son! We have 5 grandchildren from the ages of 24 to 16! We are retired, I worked as an accountant for 30 some years. I have MS so only wish I could do more things but am thankful God gave me so many years of health before I was afflicted with this! I love to do plastic canvas, embroidery and photography! I try to make an ornament each year for our grandchildren so they will have them to put on their trees (especially when they have their own!)

Hope you had a blessed day! You continue to be in my prayers!

    Blessings...
    xoxo Gert

  13. Dear Linda,
I would love to come visit you on your porch or maybe you could come visit me on mine. We live in another part of the country on a nice farm. It's where my husband of 21 years grew up. We have 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl from 10 to 15 years old. Our girl is the youngest. It's sunny here today. I'm enjoying homeschooling my high schoolers; eventhough I feel inadequate for the task. Its just wonderful to have these boys at home, when some of our friends are choosing public high school after having them at home for all those years.

My dear in-laws live on the farm too. They're in their 80's and are in good health. It's wonderful for our kids to have them so close by. I regret that I have not shared more time with my mother in-law, but there's still time.

Thank your for letting me share a little of my story with you. We love following your blog and look forward to getting to know you better.

    Love, Michelle

  14. Dear Linda,
Thanks for the cup of tea! I enjoy mine the European way with sugar and cream please. It is sooo special to want to be known :) I hope you enjoyed some of the fresh salt water taffy if they still have it at the KS State Fair...it was sooo good!
I am a midwestern kid. I grew up around WIchita, KS and have always lived in the midwest. But along the way (we've lived in 5 states now) I spent 7 years in the same community where our hostess lives. My husband even worked at the college where Linda works now. Linda and I never knew each other then!
I've been married for almost 28 years to my hubby who teaches audio/video production to college students. We've been gifted with 4 children (girl 21-boy 18-girl 14-boy 11) who have been educated at home all their lives.
My best friend is Jesus and I love doing Bible study, crochet, scrapbooking, reading and have recently joined Facebook. I also look forward to your post each day and who knows maybe one day we will get to share your front porch :) and if not then eternity !!

  16. Dear Linda ~ I think YOU are a sweetheart! I always love how you speak of the LORD and are encouraging others to love HIM too. You are precious! :)

About me? Well, one of the few people here in BC that was born and raised here...unusual. In fact, both my parents were born here too! Great-Grandpa on my Dad's side arrived in Vancouver in 1905! How's that for "roots" in a "young" country? :)

I would *love* to share a cup of tea with you! Maybe one day?

    With Love,
    Camille

P.S. You might like to know that my current post links back to the chocolate cake you posted about awhile back. I used it as the base for a trifle I make. Yum Yum! :)

  17. What a great idea, it's so nice to learn a little bit about each other. I was born in Queens, NY and grew up on Long Island. I have lived in Connecticut and upstate NY. I have been transplanted to Texas for 28 years and never get used to the heat. I was single until age 46 when I finally met the man of my dreams. I worked up until 4 years ago and now I try to keep track of my hubby's 14 year old daughter who lives with us. I love the Lord and have been a believer for 32 years. I love visiting your farm through your blog, it's so refreshing. If I can stop procrastinating I will make Christmas gifts. It was nice to meet everyone this way! Blessings!
