Have Nice A Day!

Good morning sweet ladies,

It is going to be a busy day today.........working on an ad for The Girlhood Home Companion, finishing up the apron pattern and working on orders. This is the shortest post I am sure I have ever had.

Last night was a special night for those who are in the West  Northern Texas. As I was talking to Susan from Sunflowers and Pumpkins (she has a new blog.....welcome her if you like) she got all excited and said that she heard thunder.......that means rain is coming. It did. Not sure how much, but they did get rain. We have been praying for rain in Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado. I looked this morning on radar and it looks like Prairie Maid might be getting some also. I sure hope so. The land is parched for sure. Our area in Kansas needs rain so bad. Please keep praying. For the next few days we are going to be over 100 degrees. Sad to watch the crops suffer. My trust is IN the LORD. I will keep my eyes on HIM and HIM alone, even when it all looks bad around me. I ask that He would strengthen me to do that......I sure can't on my own.

I want to leave this story in scripture with you. I was listening and reading Acts 3: 1-26 this morning. This story made me think about Susan saying she was going to dance in the street if it rained Wonder if she did? They are grateful I am sure........the Lord heard our prayers and He answered by giving them rain. Praise Him!

Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer. And a man who had been lame from his mother's womb was being carried along, whom they used to set down everyday at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, in order to beg alms. But Peter, along with John, fixed his gaze on him and said, "Look at us!" And he began to give them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. But Peter said, "I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene-walk!" And seizing him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened. With a leap he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with the, walking and leaping and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God; and they were taking note of him as being the one who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to get alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. While he was clinging to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them at the so-called portico of Solomon, full of amazement. But when Peter saw this, he replied to the people, "Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why do you gaze at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our father, has glorified His servant Jesus, the ONE whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he and decided to release Him. But you disowned the Holy and Righteous ONe and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, but put to death the Prince of life, the one whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses. And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.......
Acts 3 1-16. If you have time read all of Acts 3. It will bless you.

Here is a commentary from Bible Gateway, if you would like to read. This story has always been so precious to me. I love what the Lord does and is doing for people today.

Ladies please don't forget that tomorrow it is our
Fifth Building Our Homes Together with Jesus. Can't wait to hear what He is doing in your Homes..........it may be simple and that is fine.

Be ready to link up, so we can see what you have been doing. You can post about anything that the Lord is doing in your HOME.
Your walk with HIM, what He is teaching you, scripture you are memorizing,  maybe you are doing some decorating, organizing tips, canning, preparing your HOME for winter.

Hugs from my farm to your HOME,
Linda

  1. I'll pray for rain for you, and then I want to see a picture of YOU dancing in the rain in the street. Well why not, if your new friend Susan can maybe you should. Maybe just saying you would do that would be enough to make it rain. God might look down and say "Now this I gotta see!"

  5. Good afternoon, Linda....

We just got a few drops of rain, but thankfully the temperature is cooler than yesterday's 107!

We were out of bread and rather than go to the store, I got up really early, so I could bake without heating the house up so much! (Sunday I made bread and the a/c couldn't keep up. All the bread was gone before the house cooled back down!) Anyway, I got up early to bake and it continued to stay cool (72) with the wind out of the north. I think we are in the low 90's now...still a blessing after the last few days!

I love the picture of the Mason jar of water....it looks so refreshing.

I am praying you will be dancing in the rain before long!!! Praying for Colorado, too, Jessica. So happy Texas is getting some moisture!!! God is good.

    Blessings,
    Cheryl

  6. Lord sent the rain! I agree with all my Sisters from our lips to your heart. I love that scripture to. as we say around here, "Jesus ain't all you need until he is all you have". Peter and John understood well, Jesus was all they had. I will say, both, had to learn the hard way, but they got it. Especially after the Holy Spirit came to live inside them....We have that same power! Wow! Thanks and blessings!

  7. Linda, I enjoyed catching up with you today! Wow, what an eventful summer you and your loved ones have had... already! Here's to health and healing for all. I so need to join in your party tomorrow. Hmmmm, sounds great and the added bonus - some motivation to declutter and purge... which I sorely need to do! I may not get to a blog post on it (can't seem to keep up with everything lately), but I'll be there in spirit! Bless you and your dear family! Thanks for your sweet visit by the blog the other day also ;) Hugs, Tammy

  10. I'll definitely be praying for rain for Kansas and anywhere else that needs it :) ): We got a lot of rain today here in Oregon. I'm thankful, because it means the chance of a forest fire is less likely!!!

Oh, thanks for that lovely Scripture picture. It's really cute. I'll have to borrow it and post it to my blog :) :)

Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

  11. Linda,

I'm with Julie...I would love to see you dancing in the street ;) My daughter and I did go out and dance in the rain, but we stayed up by the porch because the wind was bad and so was the lightening! It was fun. I have talked to other people here that got out of bed and went outside to enjoy the sight, smell, and feel of the much prayed for rain. I think our last moisture was snow back in February. Thanks to all the ladies who are praying for rain for the drought conditions.

Thanks for mentioning my blog! Some very sweet ladies came over and visited and left me comments. It made my day!

Your picture of the mason jar filled with water is "country beautiful"! I love it!

    Much love,

    Susan Montgomery
