Two New Recipes!!!!!!!! They are NUMMY!

I love this picture!!!!! I had to go into the big walk-in refrigerator at work. I forgot to bring something to"gather" my eggs in.........so I brought my apron up and put them in it. Made me feel like I was on the farm........Heehee wonderful feeling! The Lord is so good to me.......in the simple things.

Hello sweet ladies,

Kansas had some real bad weather today. We missed it, but others didn't. Tornados in areas south of our farm close to Wichita, haven't heard of any injuries so far. Hope all are okay. Praying.

Today at work I made an Orange Cake. It turned out soooo good! I used this cake recipe today called Simple White Cake from All Recipes. (We use it alot) Click on name. It is the most moist cake we have ever made. So many times we don't like white cake recipes, because they are always so dry. Not this one! It is so easy to make. Grate the peel on one orange and put it into the cake batter before baking. For the frosting make this easy frosting.

Orange Cream Cheese Frosting
1/2 cup butter
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese room temp.
4 Tblsp. fresh squeezed orange juice
2 Tblsp. orange zest
Cream butter and cream cheese together using an electric mixer in bowl
until light and fluffy. Add orange juice and continue beating adding
confectioner's sugar into the cream mixture a little at a time.
Frost the cake when it has cooled.

For one of the breakfast breads I made this nummy Cranberry Bread. I used chopped pumpkin seeds for the nuts. You can't believe how good they were with the cranberries. Everyone liked it. That means is was good!!!!!!!

I am sorry.......I forgot to take a picture of the Orange Cake today. The day seemed to go by so fast and...........I was out of there like a rocket!!!!!!! Oh how I love our farm!

Our family is learning appreciation. When we are all home together we are enjoying each other.......not that we didn't before its just now our time together at home is so precious!...... The job is also showing us His provisions for our family. It has been very difficult in the last years and having a pay check is so very nice. We are having to be very careful.........but it is a blessing. There is a lady at work that has 4 children that she provides for.......... by herself. My heart aches for her. I so hope that we can adopt them for CHRISTmas. Asking the Lord what He wants us to do. I think it will be fun. Today I asked her............ if they would like eggs...........she said yes.............I want her to know Jesus..........that He loves her. Pray for us as we get direction from the Lord as to what He wants us to do. It will be a fun adventure for sure with Him at the lead? How could it not be?

I am so thankful for my honey who works so hard and provides for our family. He is so tired by the end of the day. Please pray for him. He still works another 5 to 6 hours when he gets home. Lots to do. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for all who have told me a little about yourself. I truly have enjoyed every word of your stories. I am learning so much about each of you and it is like we are becoming such good friends!!!! I like that! If you haven't told me about you...........and your family.......please do!

A sweet blogger friend is having a Fall Giveaway. Starting now and will end on September 30th. Her blog is called Eagles Wings. Go and sign up! She does beautiful stitchery!

Have a good day on Thursday............I will be praying for you.

Hugs from my FARM to your HOME!

  3. Linda...

Both of those baked goodies sound really NUMMY!!! My dad w ould love the photo of all those eggs. We like to eat eggs in our house...so many different meals with eggs ;) :) :)

Oh, I can identify with work. As soon as I'm done, I'm out of there...and home....it never looked so good :) :) :)

I'll be praying for all of you and especially for your hubby. My dad is always really tired after working...granted, he doesn't have the extra work after work...that your hubby has...but he (my dad) is always so tired.

Today when I came home, I told my dad that I'm grateful for our jobs because it keeps a roof over our heads...and we also still have to be careful...but it's "fun"..and sometimes a challenge, but mostly fun, to practice budgeting. Sometimes it's like a game, to see how far I can make a dollar stretch..:) :)

I'm praying that God will bring something awesome out of this time of employment. Oh, I'll be praying for that single mom too. That's not easy raising four kids alone.

Have a good day tomorrow. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

  7. Linda your posts are like a breath of fresh air. After I have been by to visit, I feel renewed and happy to know that you pray for us. I too am praying but will ask a special blessing for your hubby and Kathy's hubby. I also like Kathy's idea of helping with Christmas for the single mom. Let us know what you think.

I find myself many times wishing I were home on our farm but today you really made me think of how lucky I am to have this job and that right now this is where the Father wants me to be. I will try to be more grateful.

Thank you for the recipes. My husband loves to see what you are baking! This weekend will be a great time to surprise him with one of your treats.

  9. It is so great how God works. He has not only blessed you and your family with this job, but He is using you to bless others. What a ministry. I am excited to try the recipes you posted, they sound delicious.

I will be praying for you and your family. I know you how feel about being home, I love my little house and I hate having to leave it to go to work. I always love coming home to my sweet little cottage, it makes me happy.

  10. My favorite memories as a child are going to visit grandma and grandpa on their farm. I don't live on a farm. I live in a small house in town but I pretend to have chickens but really they are just sparrows..but they come when I call "here chick, here chick, etc." They probably think "this woman has lost it", but they come and eat the birdseed but seem to be looking at each other and roll their eyes....I love your pictures and stories. Mary
